Lamu is an old town and there is an excellent Museum and large Fort dating back to 1814. Several smaller islands around Lamu also have interesting ruins and some being developed as Tourist destination. The island has a connection of narrow roads which makes it impossible for Motor vehicle transportation.Only dockeys are used as taxis.
:: DAY ONE - Malindi to Lamu 30 minutes flight.
Picked-up from hotel at 7:15 am to the Airport. Fly at 8:15 am arrive at 9:00 am. Transfer by boat from Lamu airstrip to Manda island. Check-in at the hotel. After lunch go for excurssion either by foot or donkey with a local guide.
:: DAY TWO - Lamu back to Malindi.Afterbreak go for an excurssion with a guide until lunch time. Lunch at the hotel. After lunch prepare for the journey back to Malindi. Deperture from Lamu is at 4:30 pm .Arrive at Malindi at around 5:15 pm.
