Kenya
Kenyan parks are divided into five tourist circuits. Each circuit has its own unique attractions, which are distinguish from one another.
North circuit :: Mid-north circuit :: South-west circuit :: West Circuit :: South-east circuit.
North Tourist Circuit.
This circuit includes Maralal South Island, Central Island on Lake Turkana, Sibiloi, Marsabit Losai and samburu. For adventure loving visitors this is your area to be. It's also so challenging terrain. The circuit is so attracting and extremely nature rewarding. Sibiloi National Park is also a prehistoric and archaeological site. Over 160 fossilized remains of early man, Homo hablis and Homo erectus have been discovered here, which place mans origin to 3 millions years back. Lake Turkana is a home to over 12 thousands crocodiles, the largest surviving community in the world. Ferguson's Gulf is wonderful place to visit during March to April to view the Northwards Flight of migrant birds. Trips are organized from Nairobi to this area for the adventure visitors.
Mid-nothern Tourist Circuit.
This circuit named the "Jewel in the Crown" as it has abounds with wildlife and it's the most captivating scenarios in this country. This includes Samburu Buffalo Springs, Shaba, Maralal, Meru, Bisanadi, the Aberdares range and the Mt.Kenya.
I. Meru, Mwingi, Kora, Bisanadi & Rahole Natonal park and reserve.
All this forms the part of the northern circuit. Meru National Park is the best-watered sanctuaries and its situated on the slopes of Nambene mountain ranges, north east of Mt. Kenya. Lion, elephant, cheetah, leopard, rare antelope, buffalo's, lesser kudu and duicker are found in this park. Estimated 300 hundreds of birds species have been recorded. Accommodation read available camp or lodges.
II. Samburu, Buffalo Spring & shaba national Reserve.
Spectacular scenarios, rivers and forests in these national reserves are major attraction here. This area has permanent springs and a wealth of wildlife, which includes hippos, elephant, lions, giraffes, gravy zebras, bongos, leopards and the crocodiles in the Engare Uaso Nyiro River. Over 300 species of birds in this area have been identified.
Shaba national reserve is a home to the monument of Joy Adamson and her husband George who contributed greatly to Kenya's conservationist and artist. Remember the movie "Out of the Jungle" and "Born Free" was all set in this national reserve. Shaba is a home to the rare Somali ostrich.
III. Mt.Kenya, Aberdare, Ol Donyo Sabuk & Mwea National Reserves.Mt.Kenya National Park lies at an altitude of 3,400m - 5,400m. Offer a nice viewing and mountain climbing and nice scenery that includes glacier, tarns and peaks. Mt Kenya is the second mountain in Africa after Mt. Kilimanjaro. Part of attraction in this national park is different wildlife and vegetation at different altitudes. Dry upland forest covers the lower slopes; mountain forest begins at an altitude of 2,000m and comprises of cedar, Meru oak and Podo trees. At 2,500m immerged a belt of bamboo forest with smaller trees. The forest is a home to a variety of animals and rare plants species.

Wildlife found in this area includes Olive baboons, sykes monkeys, bushbuck, buffalo's, black rhinos, colobus monkeys, leopards, genet cats, hyena, giant forest hog, elephant, bongos, and albino zebra have been sighted in this area plus many more. There are about 3 lodges within the park, 7 mountain climbers huts as well as 3 self-help bandas. There are a few lodges and more self-help bandas outside of the park.
Aberdare ranges lies at an altitude of 2,134 - 4,268m. A home to the first tree-top hotel in Africa. It's near Nyeri town that's lies the remains and tombs of Lord Baden Powel, the founder of worldwide Boy Scouts movement. Accommodation is available in the lodge and campsites within the park.
IV. Ol Donyo Sabuk National Park.
The park is ideal place for day excursion from Nairobi. Its 65km from Nairobi. From this park you clearly view mount Kilimanjaro and mount Kenya. Ol Donyo Sabuk is a mount which rises to about 2,500m above sea level. Variety of wildlife is found in this park.
