Kenyan National Parks And Reserves.
South-Eastern Tourist Circuit. Kenya has 59 natonal parks, Game Reserves, Marine National parks and Reserves account for approximately eleven per cent of Kenya surface area. The southern Eastern circuit embraces the city of Nairobi, Amboseli, chyulu hills, Tsavo west and East, Shimba hills, Malindi, Mombasa, Kisite and Mpunguti. I. Tsavo East,West and Chyulu Hills National Park.  This is one of the largest Game sanctuaries in the world. Its compromise Tsavo East, West and Chyulu Hills. Its over 21,000-km sq. Being near the coast of Kenya, it makes it the most popular safari destination from the coastal towns. Its world leading bio-diversity areas. Ideal for photography on accounts of its unlimited sunlight and the expanse of the yatta Plateau-the world's largest lava flow. It is famous for it's Red elephant which derive their red coloring name from the rich red earth of the park. The are other animals to be seen that's includes buffaloes, rhinos, hippos, leopards, crocodiles, waterbucks, kudus, gerenuks, zebras, hartbeests and the hirola antelope. The park has over five hundred species of birds, which include buzzards, ostrich and migratory kestrel. There are some areas where you can nature walk. Some future includes the cave and geological formations, Shetani lava flow and Mzima springs underwater observatory. Accommodation and safaris can be arranged with us (Afrodream). II. Arabuko Sokoke Forest Reserve. It's the largest surviving stretch of coastal forest in East Africa. The reserve contains many rare species of birds, butterflies, amphibians and plants. There are five butterfly species only found here and not anywhere on the world. A varied population of snakes, lizards, frog and toad are also found here. Some of the rare species of birds are found here, they include Amani sunbird, Clarke's weaver, Sokoke pipit; Spotted ground thrush, Sokokean scopes owl and the East Coast akalat. All together there are over 230 species of birds recorded. It's also a home to the Golden-rumped elephant shrew and the sokoke bushy-tailed mongoose. Best time to visit the reserve are morning hours or late afternoon as during the middle of the day most of wildlife hide from heat. Peak time for birds activities in the forest lasts from dawn to about 9.30 a.m. For nature lovers, Arabuko sokoke is the place to visit.
III. Nairobi National Parks. The park is one of the oldest of the Kenya's national park and game reserves. Its main entrance is merely a stone's throw from the outskirts of the city, thus making it the only city in the world that borders natural game protected area. The unique feature of Nairobi National Park not to miss is the Animal Orphanage and the Nairobi safari walk at the main gate. The Orphanage is home to injured and orphanage young animals. They are nursed back health before being realized back to wild. About four hundred of birds species have been recorded.
IV. Amboseli National Park. Amboseli is Kenya's international biosphere reserve lying at altitude of about 1,200m - 1,400m. Amboseli is a maasai word, which means, "Place of water". The park has an endless supply of water that's filter through thousands of meters of volcanic rock from Mt Kilimanjaro. Vast herds of Elephant, zebra, Wildebeest, Giraffe, Impala and Leopards are main attraction. Birdslife includes Pelican, Bee-eater, Kingfisher, African fish eagle, Martial eagle and Pygmy Falcon. Kilimanjaro forms the backdrop with its snowcap of this game sanctuary and it is a sight to see and marvel at. Afrodreams will always be in handy to take you there.
V. Shimba Hills National Reserve. The reserve is just 30 minutes drive from Mombasa south (Diana). It's an enchanting coastal forest rising 1,400ft above sea level. The reserve is a home to elephant, buffaloes, lions, leopard, the newly introduced giraffe, as well as several species of primates. The African largest antelope " the sable" is found here. The horned antelope is perhaps the park's greatest attraction, over 200 of this species are found here. The treasures of birdlife in this reserve is famous, it includes the rarest birds species. The golden oriole, the black tailed bustard, and the Madagascar night heron have been spotted in this reserve. Shimba hills Lodge is the only treetop hotel along the Kenyan coast. Rooms overlook the water holes.
